He met every trade onsite on their first day to review all aspects of their work. All trades people were courteous, professional and tidy. We were updated regularly on the status of project. We selected the Premier Basement Builders company from Niagara Falls for our basement renovations
project. This was a result of a due diligence and a market research process - considering a number of
companies from the region, which included: (1) having many site-visits; (2) obtaining competitive quotes;
and, (3) comparing pluses and minuses of multiple builders.
Greg McLellan from Premier Basement Builders was on site and gave us very professional advice,
offering multiple options and always looking from ours (client's) point of view and honestly considering
what would be in our best interest - to make the finished basement fulfil the function we had in mind. We
also reviewed their Website and many artefacts of previous projects.
The quote from Premier Basement Builders was the best we got. Price was within the range (not the
lowest and not the highest), but what made the difference was the detailed list of individually priced work
items. That gave us the opportunity to choose from clearly identified allowances and to comfortably adjust
the quote (mostly asking for additional items that will meet our specific requirements). At the end, solely
based on our requests, the price was actually increased - and, there were no hidden costs nor surprises.
The trust and confidence in our preferred contractor was built - from day one!
The work was done within the agreed-on timelines and started at the end of February of 2021 - in the
middle of Covid-19 crisis. The on-site crew from Premier Basement Builders had masks-on during every
interaction with us and the distance was kept according to guidelines. Any small adjustment that was
required during the project was immediately acted-on and the +/- price difference was adjusted,
accordingly. The crew is young, friendly, very professional and showed an exceptional customer service
attitude.
The work was completed as promised and we are very happy with the outcome - a beautifully finished
basement done with high quality of workmanship, on time and within the budget (including all the changes
and additions that we requested and approved during the execution). All colours and trims matched the
ones in the rest of the house.
Last and not least - Monika runs Premier Basement Builders' Office and Demo Centre on Stanley Avenue
and we would like to claim that she is the most responsive professional in the Niagara Region - always
reachable and ready to deal with every request and no detail is overlooked.
